When we first arrived at this project in Newtown, there was an existing pool and pergola structure which had been built in the early 90's and untouced since. It was in need of a major renovation, which is eactly what we did.
The pool was completely re-surfaced and the pool surrounds, which were paved with red bricks, were replaced using Travertine pavers from Turkey which matched the tiles throughout the residence. These pavers extended up into the old pergola area, which had now been completely transformed. It went from being a barren nothingness with visible pool equipment, to an outdoor room with the pool equipment hidden in a pump room. It now included a change room, outdoor shower, BBQ with sink, wood fire pizza oven, timber benches with hinged lids for storage, an outdoor rear projection theatre system and luxury outdoor furniture.
The pool area also featured a 2.4m high water feature with a sheer descent shooting into the pool. This feature was flanked by four 2m high solid marble columns which the client had sourced from Delhi, India. Spot lights cored into the paving added that final touch to this beautiful renovation.
